Lincolnville residents are startled by the discovery of a fully developed infant in a vacant well near Mrs May Taylor's home. Coroner Cowan and officers retrieved the body after Mrs America Rollins reported the find. The case remains a mystery with no clear cause or identity possible from the state of decomposition.
The incident in a Jefferson City depot ended with Ashworth the baggage man fined $3 and costs in police court after striking a man over the head with a broom during a heated exchange in the waiting room.
The Lincoln event drew a huge crowd on a perfect day with fireworks to close. The Warsaw team won both the log rolling contest and the drill, led by chief forester F H Petts with Arch F Prussing, W L Crawford, and Jas.

An appeal was filed to the criminal court. Will and Albert Thomas, arrested by Deputy Constable Mason, received five days from Judge Burr. Alice Johnson received a continuance till Saturday. JR McClurken, claiming robbery by Jerusha Turley on Main Street, appeared drunk and was fined $2 with a city stay.
Col John A Hannay editor of the Versailles Leader is in Sedalia as a leading candidate to succeed the late Richard Bland. He is praised as a Missourian with eight years of congressional experience and broad local support.
Judge Shirk received telegrams announcing the deaths of Zella Squires his niece and her brother Lee Shirk both of Mt Carroll Illinois. The brother died in Albuquerque New Mexico of consumption which caused the sister's death as well.
The young people of East Sedalia Baptist Church will host an ice cream social this evening at Fred Raymond's located at the corner of Eighth and Engineer.
