Mrs. F Raymond robbed of 50 dollars after a burglar concealed in the room choked her near the Broadway and Engineer streets home of Fred Raymond Missouri Pacific engineer. The offender left a bottle of chloroform and a laundry marked handkerchief. police pursue a young man in a light suit.

At Union station Nevada on Wednesday 11 50 AM a Missouri Pacific passenger train northbound from the south and an M E and T freight on track 2 nearly collided after the freight misrouted onto the wrong track. Yardmaster Towner intervened, stopping both engines within 25 to 30 feet. The seven coach passenger train carried delegates from a Joplin convention including Judge Henry Lamm Col H C Demuth and Judge W S Shirk. Judge Lamm later lost a new five dollar hat while bidding farewell to delegates near Dresden.

The Labor Day committee reported two venue options with park space and dance facilities offered by Liberty Park Board for 10 and 15 dollars respectively, plus Sedalia Electric Street Railway proposing Forest Park free use and privileges. The committee of seventeen will refer the proposals to their organizations for a vote to decide the celebration location, with all delegates reporting back next meeting.
