Springfield Mo July 9 The Democratic state judicial convention adjourned at 7 this morning after an all night session. Nominees are Gavon D. Burgess Leroy B. Valliant and James D. Fox. The convention endorsed the Kansas City platform by 501 to 199 amid heated debate over Bryanism. May or Reed drew large crowds as the favorite. Pettis county delegation split on platform endorsement.

Morrison sentenced to twenty five years in prison
Morrison, convicted June 25 of second degree murder for killing Mrs. Olin Castle at her home in June 1900 by cutting her throat, was sentenced Tuesday to twenty five years in the penitentiary. A motion for a new trial was overruled.

The Christian Endeavor Herald, intended to promote the state convention in October, is held up awaiting guidance from the third assistant postmaster general. About 3500 copies have been printed and delayed because second class status could not be confirmed. A ruling is being sought and it is expected the paper will be allowed to pass.

Mrs. J. H. Shultz sister of Mrs. John M. Glenn and former Sedalia resident died in Osawatomie Kansas at age 40 from a complication of diseases. Survived by mother sister husband and four children. She moved from Sedalia about eleven years ago where her husband was foreman at the Missouri Pacific shops. Remains will be brought to Sedalia and a German M F Church funeral around 2 p.m. Friday tentative.

Prominent Cooper County Farmer Ends His Life at Home
Boonville Mo July 9 another sensational death by own action occurred at about seven oclock this morning Baker Shannon one of the best known and wealthiest farmers in Cooper county shot himself through the head at his home dying instantly. No reason is known though some suggest heat derangement. He leaves a wife and three children and was brother of Sam Shannon a Democratic candidate for county judge. The deceased farm four miles south of Boonville was among Central Missouri's best. This follows the recent suicide of Theodore Corum of Bellair a week ago at the same hour.
