Emmett E. Phillips, son of U S Judge John F Phillips and former Sedalian, died by poison in a Kansas City Blossom House room after a period of heavy drinking. A chambermaid found him unconscious around 7:30 pm. a doctor failed to save him. A note on railroad letterhead mentioned an inquest and paying debts, offering no motive. Funeral planned for Sacred Heart Church with listed pallbearers.
