Roscoe Parmerlee of Versailles is jailed on a rape charge involving a 13 year old girl, Pearl Shore. He denies guilt and claims an alibi, with a hearing set before Justice Clifton on Monday. his wife Zelma Martin is pregnant. Specialty to The Sentinel.
Local mail arrived irregularly amid ice and snow last week causing delays in the business and residence districts. Postmaster Glenn collected downtown to assist, and carriers handled 60 to 80 pounds each. One Sedalia carrier averages 22 miles daily, with another reaching 26 miles.
The Inter-Tower 44, a wealthy farmer living ten miles south of St. Joseph, Missouri, died at his native home today from pneumonia. He had spent his life on a single farm and never traveled far from St. Joseph. He owned about 2,000 acres of land in Wayne township.

Mrs Ida Evans of 307 North Moniteau was assaulted and robbed by Lulu Vaughn on a Lexington branch train. Vaughn seized the purse containing 21.25 and fled to her home where she was arrested. Prosecutor Cashman filed first degree robbery information for April term court. Vaughn bonded at 500 dollars for April appearance. Jury verdicts and pending trials fill the docket as Probate Court opens next week with 78 cases listed.
J A Davis takes charge as superintendent of the M K T railway at Parsons replacing L W Welch. He and wife Mrs Davis are house hunting in Parsons while his son and daughter stay with relatives in Sedalia until a home is secured. Davis has 26 years of railroad experience starting as a telegraph operator on the Big Four at Champaign Illinois and includes roles at Ubana Indianapolis Sedalia and Parsons before his latest appointment.
William Aull of Lexington has withdrawn from the race for the Democratic nomination for congressman in this district.
