Mrs. C C Evans won first prize in the three month pillow prize contest at Cannon dry goods. Judges led by Newton Cannon awarded five prizes from $1 to $5 for hand sewn and worked pillows. Entries by Mrs Charles C Evans Miss Pearl Luckett Mrs S R Quercy and Miss Mary Fitzgerald highlighted a display of fine needle art.

Mrs. Henry Rompel born Katie Demand from near Smithton died in a Kansas City hospital from complications after an operation. Thief at a Church Bazaar Steals Seven Dollars
The Fifth Street M. E. church ladies bazaar at the Y M C A on South Ohio street was robbed of about seven dollars Friday afternoon during a busy sale of needlework lace pictures and other items. Despite the loss the bazaar closed successfully the next evening with considerable profit and many duplicate items made to fill repeated orders.

Salvation Army prepares Christmas dinner for Sedalia poor
The Sedalia Salvation Army reports strong city donations to fund a Christmas dinner for about 200 people at Army headquarters and gift baskets for at least fifty more. Capt. Wade notes widespread need, with many families lacking furniture or shoes, and calls for cast-off clothing to meet daily requests. He says more aid is possible this year, and that suffering is not as severe as last winter.
