Mexico Missouri December 19 E T Smith receives many letters all signed Smith. Most ask for details of a Scotch estate valued at 8 million dollars in which he is claimed heir. A woman calling herself Mrs A J Smith of Sunbury Pennsylvania made the claim here, but Sunbury residents report no such person.
Dr. A. J. Savage of Colorado Springs departs with 2000 Colorado mules for South Africa via New Orleans. Acting as Britain’s agent, he has worked with other agents nationwide including Missouri. The American mule suits rough field conditions, with the West supplying most shipments and good prices paid for the standard animal.
The first Tuesday night a large iron column cracked in the machinery room of the W. J. Lempice plant. Crews are replacing it with a new post as repairs proceed.

The band features Borghi Alberti Zenzi Kyla Bryden and others with shows including Carmen Faust and Lucia numbers and an electric anvil act drawing large crowds. Tickets on sale December 24 to January 2 at one and one third fare, 200 mile M K T routes, return by January 2 1902.
