Oscar Simmens and George Donnell of Cole Camp enlisted in Company 15 U S Service at Sedalia May 16 1898 and were discharged at Iloilo Panay Island August 23 1899 after one year three months seven days in service. They fought in four battles including Manila August 13 1893 and battles at Jaro and Iloilo plus Manila layovers before returning home to Kansas City and Cole Camp. Mrs Skinner Captures Rare Bald Eagle Near Carrollton
Mrs Skinner living on the Waken da captured an eight foot bald eagle after a lake chase. A dog tried to seize the bird but the eagle fought back with talons. Mrs Skinner covered the bird with a blanket, brought it to town, and sold it to Tr. E. Willis for exhibition.

Lincoln stock dealer weds Miss Marble Fields
Mr. William A. Hanes and Miss Marble Fields were married at Rev. Welborn's Lincoln residence on Tuesday afternoon December 12 at 2 o'clock.
