A car load of Angora goats arrives Friday morning for display at the fair next week. About 100 exhibition horses are on site with 300 more expected, including some of the finest in the land from U S and Europe. S. Y. Sanders of Warrensburg, superintendent of the light horse program, remains until after the fair, while C N Moody of Atlanta Missouri, beef breeds superintendent, is in town. The first consignment of Hereford cattle arrived last night and was unloaded today at the grounds.

Fights Reported in Turkey at Vo DenI Valenzia and Prilentzi
Advices from Constantinople say insurgents attacked Turkish soldiers at Vo DenI Valenzia and Prilentzi. Several insurgents were killed at Prilentzi while a clash near that town saw a Turkish detachment of 150 men defeat a like force, with Turkish troops said to have suffered heavy losses.

Death of Mrs Behrens Widow of William Behrens
Mrs Elizabeth Behrens 78 died at 10 this morning at her son E T Behrens 603 South Engineer Street from a paralytic stroke suffered last Saturday. Born in Germany July 24 1825 she came to America in 1839 and lived in Benton county before moving here in 1874. Surviving are daughters Mrs Kate Adams and Mrs Gusta Wenzel and sons E T Behrens D B Behrens. Funeral at St Pauls Lutheran Church Friday at 4 PM with Rev Theodore Bundenthal conducting.

Driver escapes drowning as team perishes in swollen creek
A colored driver for James Moore of Tipton narrowly escaped drowning when his buggy and a fine team were washed away in Moreau creek nine miles south of Tipton. The team was drowned and the buggy carried downstream. the driver swam to shore. Moore faces a heavy loss as he is not well fixed financially.
