At noon today a Sam Barnard bakery wagon rolled uncontrolled from Fourth and Osage. Driver Bloess suffered a deep head gash and several riders fled the scene as the wagon circled the street and damaged the bakeshop tongue. The incident disrupted traffic but no further injuries were reported.
J WK Kidd from the Hotel LeGrande suffered a painful injury last night when attacked by a large black dog that regularly rests in the alley near the Boston Cafe. The incident occurred as the dog blocked the crossing, likely keeping Kidd sidelined for several weeks.
A remonstrance campaign opposes building the East Sedalia sewer over financial concerns. Property owners fear assessments will force some to lose homes, while supporters insist the sewer is badly needed for health and street improvements. A terrific hurricane at Ponce Porto Rico caused floods that almost wiped out the town. Two hundred people were drowned and the port area was severely damaged.
A six month old baby boy, Joseph, child of Charles Luther of Thornleigh, was buried at Mt Harriman church. Reports say C I Wilson lost his pocket book with keys and meal tickets during the Fort Scott excursion on August 1. Ott Petty reports the highest market price for a car load of two year old steers at St Louis, averaging 1,400 pounds for $6.10 per hundred. An incident at Katy depot involved a near runaway as No 2 began to move, with Dr Cohen too close to the engine as it started.
A granite monument arrived for the grave of Tom Frame to be set by the Woodmen of the World, of which he was a member. An extended insurance dispute was resolved in favor of his widow. Ed Baumann rushed to Finley Ohio after a telegram announced his brother Louis’s serious condition, later improving but still in danger. Louis’s mother lives in Sedalia.

The EPA Harker case was continued in Justice Roger's court until Saturday at 10 o'clock. Harris Cohen of Cohen Coal Co is moving into property at Grand Avenue and Cooper. Judge Burress sat as ex officio justice in the assault case of George Ellis alias Kid Ross who struck Josie Sandridge and received five days. Noble Moser son of RK Moser Windsor died of peritonitis and will be buried tomorrow afternoon at Windsor. John W Gross of Guenther's left for Naperville Illinois with camera then Fargo Dakota and Manitoba. Mrs Gross accompanies him to Chicago.
Otis Skinner and his bride Miss Clara Ream returned yesterday noon from Kansas City. They eloped after overcoming parental objection and did not inform their parents. The couple were driven to the bride's country home yesterday afternoon where they were greeted only by the absence of local inquiries.
Peter Barrett was Friday adjudged insane and will be taken to Nevada on the order of the county court.
