Key West reports the battleship New York bombarded Cabanas and razed it to the ground. Dispatches note thousands of US troops may be landed in Cuba. The piece outlines military enrollment measures and state guard commission procedures under the governor's policy.
Adjutant Bell reports Missouri National Guard mobilization delays due to quartermaster shortages and enrollment readiness. Up to ten thousand U S troops may be sent to Cuba next Tuesday while Washington plans expeditions of 1500 plus Cuban veterans and Cuban recruits amid fears of Spanish manipulation and yellow fever.

The Third National bank directors elected W A Latimer assistant cashier yesterday afternoon. R H Moses the cashier was granted a leave of absence for health and rest. Latimer has long been a government bank examiner and will take over the indoors duties from Moses while winding up affairs of the defunct First National bank.
Mrs. Graham and Mrs. Monahan Collier depart for Chicago tonight to buy a premier summer millinery line for Sedalia. Mrs. Collier’s stock is praised as Central Missouri’s most complete, with heavy spring purchases anticipated. A new May millinery line arrives at Mrs. J. W. Mallery's.
Last night’s entertainment at the Second Congregational church drew a large audience for a library benefit. The program featured performances by the Queen City Mandolin Club, Miss Brigham’s classes, Ernest Bailey and Myrtle Bradford, and several students in songs and dialogue. A new line of millinery was shown at Mrs. J. W. Mallory’s. H. Kline and M. Houdan were released for vagrancy. DeWitt’s Little Early Risers mentioned among items.
The Official Gazette prints Portugal neutrality decree with six articles. It prohibits privateers and entry of belligerents, allows limited port stays, defines contraband trade, warns residents and foreigners, and refuses protection to infringers.
