In Kinsey’s court Charles Oliver was fined one dollar and costs for disturbing a Missouri Pacific switch crew. A. D. Brown received two days in jail for disturbing Motorman Brown of the Sedalia line. Dunlap and Drake were dismissed in Rogers court. Emma Smith and Mary Arnold faced a hoo-doo case over disturbing Susan Chaney’s peace with several locals named as involved.
In a trial against the Arnold and Chaney families, the Arnold woman received two days and Emma Smith five days in jail. D P Berry, representing the state, pressed her on a supposed grudge against the Chaney woman. The accused denied such animosity, prompting laughter in the courtroom. Judge Kinsey pledged to care for the baby during the woman's imprisonment and ensure proper attention after release.
Peter Barrett appeared in police court and received ten days for trespass on the Missouri Pacific property.

A premature male infant was found last evening in a tin can buried in an orchard near Earnest Forbes three miles north of Beaman. An inquest was held by Justice G. F. Allen. Details on the case are incomplete and authorities are alerted.
Friends and relatives reported him missing to police then a delegation went to Sedalia while others informed federal authorities that he is safe. Habeas corpus proceedings are expected to be pursued.
Two young deaf mute sisters, four and six, were struck by Missouri Pacific train No 74 in the east bottoms, killing the older child while the younger escaped death after stepping off the track. Conductor Frank Mount and throttleman Tom Woods were in charge of the Lexington branch passenger train, which arrived in Sedalia at 10 45 PM. The tragedy occurred near the Heim brewery yards.

Sedalia failed to post a bond and is not a valid contestant for the fair prize. The Motherly Democrat notes Saturday was the deadline for city applications. Moberly filed through Hon W P Cave, bond turned in to secretary J R Rippey. The Board of Agriculture, with one member from each district, will pick the site within eighty days.
