Fireman Lee Husbands of St. Louis was severely injured after Rock Island passenger train No. 1 derailed near Bland. Engineer W. J. Cowan was uninjured. several cars overturned and rails torn. Wreck crew from Eldon cleared the line. Conductor John Reams led the wreck train.
Metropolitan theatergoers show keen interest in the all-star version of She Stoops to Conquer at the New Amsterdam tonight. The cast features Eleanor Robson, Clara Bloodgood, Louis James, Kyrle Belew, Arnold Daly, Henry E. Dixey and J. E. Dodson. After four weeks in New York, the company will tour major cities this spring.
The remains of Mrs Ellen Steffens who died Friday in St Louis arrived this morning on the Katy and were taken to the home of J H Fisner 305 West Morgan street where the funeral was held this afternoon at 230 o clock with Rev Bundenthal conducting the services Pallbearers were John Lumpee L E Fisher John Schlaffer Gus Hamann Claud Grother and Thomas Rowe Burial was in the city cemetery.

Funeral services for Miss Ethel Gibson daughter of Mr and Mrs E B Gibson were held at Broadway Presbyterian church at 3 pm with a packed crowd. Rev D M Clagett led brief simple rites and music by Mrs E F Yancey and a ladies quartet. The casket was adorned with lilies and a large floral wheel. The body was later laid to rest in the city cemetery amid relatives and friends from near and far.

Secretary Rippey of the State fair association was informed today that the appropriation bill was signed. The measure saves $127,000 for the State fair and the governor approved every item for the fair.

G P Cook of 334 West Pettis street received a telegram from Denver, Colorado announcing the death of his nephew Henry Humburg son of the late Mr and Mrs Val Humburg. Born in Sedalia July 26 1865, he left for Denver with his parents twenty two years ago. He is survived by two sisters Mrs G A Heil and Miss Nellie Hamburg both of Denver.
