Fatal Shootout Near Guthridge Mills Between Holden and Ellis
John Holden a woodchopper was killed in a shooting affray by Franklin J. Ellis a merchant at Guthridge Mills seven miles north of Keytesville about six last evening. Holden fired first striking Ellis in hand and hip. Ellis returned fire concluding the encounter with fatal results.
