RUPFALO Sept 2 The trial of Leon Czolgosz began with heavy security as he entered the court shackled. He pleaded guilty to murdering William McKinley, while judges and district attorneys pressed for swift, orderly proceedings and a quick path to justice despite heavy public interest. Czolgosz’s defense team, ex-Judges Lewis and Titun, pledged vigorous representation. The assassin remains under constant guard as jurors are screened. He is described as sleeping well and craving tobacco in the jail.

Roommate Robbery Recovered with Suspect Arrested

Woman burned lighting kitchen fire at Dabney home
