Fire At Western House Sparks Suspicion In Seattle Case
William Shay a logger working in Enumclaw Wash denied blame for a blaze at the Western house on 5235 YF avenue last Saturday. He says he was away from Seattle for over a week and offered to help, noting oil-soaked rooms in the unoccupied section had been set afire. He telephoned The Star from Enumclaw and indicated he could reveal more but would not discuss the matter over the phone. Firemen reported the flames, and investigators found six unoccupied rooms saturated with oil set afire.
