Miss McDaniela, 17, fled a room at the Tingle lodging in Madison last night after Ernest Carter, 34, assaulted her with a razor. He pursued her to the sidewalk then returned inside and fainted from loss of blood after neighbors intervened. Carter, a candy maker from Tacoma, had followed McDaniela from Seattle to hideous pursuit. He was placed in police care and to be sent to her parents in Bellingham.
