In federal court on September 17, New York Central traffic manager 8. S. Pomeroy and vice president Nathan Guilford pleaded not guilty to an indictment alleging rebating in connection with traffic with sugar refiners.

Mrs W T Barnes died yesterday in West Seattle after tuberculosis. The body was taken to Graham's undertaking parlors at Ballard and will be shipped tomorrow afternoon to Snohomish for burial.
