Peggy O Neil wins the lead role after a newspaper appeal by Oliver Morosco, beating 400 rival applicants for Laurette Taylor’s successor in Peg O My Heart. The dramatic manager’s offices drew a crowd of hopeful actresses as Peggy emerged the chosen one.
