D. W. Hadley testifies that Hillman promised employment and resale help for property bought from Hillman entity. Hadley paid 210 and received little or no job, no clear land title, and no fulfillment of contract or promised 10 percent profit. The latest counts show Thomas P. Revelle leading Will E. Humphrey in Seattle by about 1 000 votes with 26 precincts remaining. Revelle holds strong first and second choice totals in many wards, while Humphrey trails citywide though leading in several country districts.
Workmen uncover a woman's skull with a bullet hole and clothing fragments while digging for a building foundation on Virginia street. Detectives believe the remains indicate a murder and continue the investigation as new fragments are found.
