A saloonkeeper Frank Stevenson was found dead with a bullet wound in Snoqualmie, coroner on scene for inquest to decide if death by self-inflicted gunshot or murder. A grand procession in San Francisco marks the triennial conclave with ten thousand Knights Templars from various jurisdictions. Delegations from Canada and England join California units in a twelve-division parade led by Sir Knight De Witt Wittman and officials from the grand encampment. The spectacle includes mounted knights, ornate carriages, and international escorts amid a city-wide crowd.
In New York City the annual St. Rocco feast fills the East Side shrines with thousands of Italian worshippers. A large shrine near St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Mott Street, costing $10,000, features a carved image of St. Rocco. Nights glow with candies, bands, and pyrotechnics as locals parade in colorful dress. The two week festival is a major cultural event for the district.
John Andrew Nink was attacked around 2 am on Viret avenue near Columbia Street. He was found insensible and taken to the police station. Dr Armberg attended him for injuries centered on a bad forehead wound. Nink offered no statement. He and family were well known, especially among German residents. Morria Hill a Pierce county pioneer was shot and killed by Carl Wayman a friend companion Saturday at Melmont near Fairfax in a mining town where Northwestern Improvement company mines lie. Wayman claims accidental shooting and locals demand county investigation. Hill was a renowned hunter and prospector aged about 60.
Mrs Minnie MicKenzice went insane and barricaded herself in Falcon Street home armed with two revolvers. She held off ten vigilantes for five hours before killing Patrolman Sturdivant and was captured after formalin fumes were injected through a door keyhole.

County auditor reports total property value at 85,850,862 with 68,714.08 in real estate and 17,197,554 in personal property equalized by the last board of equalization.
The Alaska Steamship Jefferson sailed for Skagway this morning with thirty passengers and a full cargo. It struck a log yesterday breaking its propeller, was sent to Eagle Harbor, and Dirigo was dispatched from Tacoma to fetch the original propeller. The Jefferson was placed on the ways at Eagle Harbor and the propeller installed within twenty four hours.

The International Condensing company plant at Chehalis burned early this morning. The boiler house, boilers, water tank and offices were saved. The Tacoma owned plant had been condensing 10,000 to 11,000 pounds of milk daily from about 100 farmers, leaving them without a market.
The condemnation trial over the right of way for the municipal lighting plant pole line will start in Judge Griffin's court in September 195. Corporation Counsel Gilliam says the trial should last four to five days. If the award favors the city, Kent Lumber will likely appeal to the supreme court. The city plans to clear the route and place poles, with power delivery not before late October. Work to extend lines from the city and Cedar Falls continues, rails and wires advancing past Renton, while labor disputes over extended hours draw criticism from unions.
Rodgers 15 year old son of A B Rodgers narrowly escaped death Sunday afternoon while hunting with Fitz Hughes and Oscar Peterson. He struck a hammer on a log causing the gun to discharge powder burned left eye and cheek with deep skin penetrations. Hughes was knocked hat from head but unharmed.
