A. B. Stewart of Stewart and Holmes Drug Co has filed suit against Logan and Fred Billingsley for 1657 dollars claimed as due for merchandise and fixtures for the Night and Day drug store at 1525 Third Ave W. W. F. Barnum of Pacific Coast Co is in Seattle on an annual inspection trip.
Railroads relaxed embargo rules on Saturday to move perishable freight while awaiting a possible Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Enginemen strike Monday. Northern Pacific officials warned dining car service could halt. armed guards may run three car trains to Portland and Spokane if needed. Local workers faced cross pressures as V P Albert Phillips and T P Gorman arrived to direct plans. foresters hall in Seattle was set for Sunday talks.
All subscribers on $1.50 contracts were moved to the $2 class as the public service commission ruling activated. Crews will remove unrestricted service in apartments and multi party lines and add a $3.60 installation charge. Commercial customers face new $7.50 monthly rates for two party lines and higher costs for regular service.
Health Commissioner McBride warned the city council that building the Selleck-Green River Hot Springs road could contaminate the Cedar River watershed. He noted surveys are underway, the watershed is owned by the city, and substantial funds are already spent patrolling the area.
