Judge Austin B. Griffiths urges abolishing police and justice courts and consolidating their powers into the superior court. He favors a non lawyer majority on a commission to simplify procedures, two month juror terms, overlapping panels, and regular grand jury investigations into public offices. He also backs appointing special counsel to assist grand juries probing county boards or prosecutors.
Pendleton Oregon Harry Rose a local merchant was shot and killed by city marshal L D Clark during an attempted arrest in Helix Oregon. The shooting prompted an inquest scheduled for Monday and the event is under police review.
Miss Catherine Walsh of Kirkland and Eldridge of Fremont were seriously hurt in a Sunday 3:40 a.m. collision on Bothell Boulevard one mile south of Bothell. Eldridge suffered four broken ribs and possible internal injuries. Walsh is bruised with injuries undetermined. The auto stage, on a special trip, was struck by another vehicle and toppled into a telephone pole. driver John Larkin led the stage to crash site.
An unidentified man was knocked down at Second Ave and Madison Ext on Friday but unhurt per W. A. Camp of Ellis' club. H. M. Hyland of 416% Denny Way was struck at Second Ave and Wall St by a car driven by Eva Simmons of 19 Queen Anne Ave and suffered no serious injuries.
