Toted booze and narcotics case ends in fines

Walter K E Brown a Seattle shoe salesman pleaded guilty in federal court to possession and transportation of 14 quarts of Canadian whisky. He was fined 500 on the first count and 100 on the second after Internal Revenue agents caught him transporting the whisky and narcotics. The Harrison Act violation carried a small fine with leniency for his wife family and first offense. Link described as an alien received consideration and a short sentence.

Honey crop is short from lack of sun in Devon

London reports the Devon honey harvest is the worst in thirty years due to insufficient sun in July and August. Only one in sixty hives had enough honey for winter. Divorce cases set for hearing during the present term exceed two thousand, with seven hundred petitions carried over from the last term.
