President Wilson addressed a large crowd on Long Branch lawn during Wilson Day and Empire State Day events. He framed progressive forces as servant of liberty and urged voters to back the Democratic party to sustain reforms, warning against defeat on November 7. The gathering included Tam many Hall delegates and New York officials arriving by special trains.

A Zurich wireless report says the Kaiser narrowly escaped death when an aeroplane bombarded his train. The engineer on board was killed during the attack.
Costikyvan & Co. sue Seattle meat packer Charles H. Frye for 5500 unpaid balance on six Shahristan Oriental rugs valued at 6700. One rug delivered and paid 1200. five more delivered later, but 5500 remains due plus 6 percent interest since 1912.
