Workers in a city wholesale district threaten a general walkout after claims that promised wage guarantees to three unions were not kept. The dispute follows a prior teamsters strike and related concessions, with 2800 workers at risk of joining the action if demands remain unmet.
Reported Oct 1 1901 delegates eye arbitration outcome as union plans to end the strike. Officials say two thirds vote by arbitration commission is required to settle points and anticipate a return to full production by next week.
On October 18 Mrs Loeffel and Mrs Boeffel pursued the Biddle group after a confrontation. They were overtaken and one Biddle was shot at her request as he departed. A page was recovered and the penitentiary held Maas to prevent an escape.
