In Clarinda Iowa October 17 a dispute between two young farmers Fen ton Whitmaugh and Charles Middaugh led to a midnight knife duel in a cemetery. Middaugh died from a neck wound after Whitmaugh seized his revolver and used pocket knives. Whitmaugh is jailed and has confessed. Middaugh 24 left a wife and child.
