Seattle Seen as Silk Mill Center by New York Importer
P Gertl of New York argues on his return from the Orient that Seattle is the logical site for a large silk mill. He says the coast needs a silk mill and Seattle’s port is closest to the Orient, with the territory west of Denver demanding silk. He notes Los Angeles already pursues a small scale mill and California may lead if Seattle cannot compete.
