Washington October 11 A man identified as the dominant figure in the Ku Klux Klan testified before the House Rules Committee naming Mrs Elizabeth Tyler of Atlanta as the woman behind the order. The testimony portrayed Tyler as a leading organizer in the movement.
Roseburg Oregon October 11 Special to The Star Dr M Brumfield a killer extraordinary used a mouse trap to kill a captive mouse by choking it with string. The incident frightened his jailers and left Brumfield unable to sleep as he reflected on the act and described his fear of choking.
Dr. Richard M. Brumfield, accused of the July 13 murder of Dennis Russell on the Pacific highway near Roseburg, faces a jury and 69 witnesses in a sensational Oregon case. Prosecutors expect to seek the death penalty as the trial opens with extensive circumstantial evidence.
Henry Austin Adams former rector of the Church of the Redeemer New York novelist and playwright is sued for back alimony of 35485. Flora Adams of New York the plaintiff and a 1906 divorcee was awarded 100 dollars monthly alimony and half of Adams' gross income over 3000 annually. She alleges Adams has earned over 96000 yearly but has not shared it. Adams is noted in Seattle and has little civic involvement.
The British government plans to invite General Pershing to London to lay the congressional medal of honor on the tomb of the unknown soldier in Westminster Abbey next Friday. If that date is unsuitable, Armistice Day November 11 will be proposed.

Bloodhounds were put on the trail of two desperate bandits who held up and robbed two men near Black River junction late Monday night. Deputy sheriffs Frank Brewer Frank Anderson and Tom Morgan are in pursuit. A small amount of loot was gained by the bandits in both robberies.
