Providence officials seized the yacht Frolic in the Providence river after a fortnight chase with a cargo of Chinese immigrants. Seventeen Chinamen and three crew members were arrested while the commander and others were absent. A watchman halted two men. a voice from the Frolic directed him to release them.
The strike in Lodz, Russia, is declared in protest of drumhead court martials that led to twenty one executions in recent days. Businesses are paralyzed and further bloodshed is anticipated as the situation worsens.
The Chicago Nationals won 7 to 1 against the Chicago Americans in the world championship series game. Weather was windy and cold, with crowds in the streets as White Sox rooters outnumbered Cubs backers. batteries were White and Sullivan for the Sox, Ruetbach and Kling for the Cubs.
At the Southern Pacific depot in Los Angeles a Mexican laborer Jesus Valensuela met his wife Rosa and their five children as the Santa Ana train arrived. He embraced Rosa on the last coach and she collapsed dead. Passengers recall her unheedful behavior by her children during the ride and a Spanish reboca covering her face hid the death.

Codification Commissioner Gleason delays finalizing the 1907 ordinance codification as council members review a proposed correction of 216 street name errors. The council postpones action to next Monday night, with Gleason targeting April 1, 1907 for manuscript delivery. The Saratoga departs Nome tomorrow carrying many passengers from Nome and St Michael.
