In Philadelphia this morning Charles and Henry Ivor, both Black men, arrived for questioning in the murder of a University of Pennsylvania professor last year. Stirling, another Black man, has been sentenced to death for the same crime. The motive remains unclear.
Four men were killed in a freight wreck on the York Central near Oriskany Morning. The dead are Engineer Spencer, Fireman Argyle Smith, Geo Palmer, and Brakeman Weir. The wreck was caused by a collision with a freight engine.
A blaze in Chicago on October 4 destroyed the Wet McMahon Biscuit and Cracker Co plant and Schofman Co stable, causing about 200,000 dollars in damage. Frame cottages nearby were crushed by falling walls.

Detective Bam Corbett investigated a burglary at a Webster residence near Woodland Park. The thief entered at night and stole a large quantity of eatables and cigars including several sides of bacon coffee cocoa and about 1% boxes of cigars. Police suspect tramp involvement.
Police officer Grimith captured a large dog amid a Sullivan block disturbance. The dog escaped from the station last night and roamed town before being restrained again. The dog, arriving from Whatcom days earlier, will likely be sent home as John Nolan finishes his duties for the year.
William Pugsiey and Burns were arrested last night on suspicion of stealing baggage from the Alaska Commercial tel and were formally charged today with petit larceny.

Mrs. M. Sherwood of 906 Thirty-fourth Avenue says she handed her trunk to an expressman at the Pacific Coast dock for delivery home and has not seen either the baggage or the courier since. The police are handling the trunk robbery report as a case of missing luggage.

The Sound steamer State of Washington will resume her run on the Whatcom route Thursday after two weeks of repairs at Morens. The vessel has been off duty for a year with extensive additions including a new shaft and rebuilt engines. New furniture and a fresh paint job modernize its appearance while the boat remains the oldest on the Whatcom run, replaced temporarily by the George BE Star during its absence.
