Ludendorff Surrenders Hint Before Argonne Battle Ends
The article asserts Ludendorff recognized defeat by September 1918 and sought peace terms directly from President Wilson. It argues his decision preceded the Allied breakthrough at the Argonne and portrays his earlier heroics as overshadowed by a looming disaster.

He argues for peace talks, notes Allied pressure in the west, and describes coordinating with Hindenburg and von Hintze to seek an armistice with Wilson.
