A Wisconsin Central train struck a crowded car at Fifty third Avenue last night, killing five and injuring more than fifty. The motor man reportedly received a signal error, and the vehicle was carrying race track patrons from the nearby Mariem track. Names of the dead include ROBERTS WILLIAM GRIFFITH and JAMES GALLAGHER among others. the accident overwhelmed emergency response and disrupted travel on the Philadelphia route.
