Boulevards Defeated After City Council Debate
After lengthy meetings with property owners along the proposed North and South Shore boulevards, the council decided to amend and send the report back to the street committee. The plan would have connected the Lake ym canal from Fremont to Baimon Bay with boulevards 120 feet wide. A large remonstrance from affected owners followed the bill. The same committee will also report on a boulevard proposal linking the state university at Brooklyn through La tona, with sewer and water facilities. It is unclear if the university boulevard will be presented tonight. The Murphy bill to raise post census from 100 to 600 annually will likely pass.
