Chauffeur Causes Fatal Crash After Motive to Wed Fails

In Cuthbert Georgia on November 22 three men died and two women were gravely injured when a car driven at about 30 miles an hour veered off a viaduct while the chauffeur tried to light a cigarette. The party had sought a minister to wed though both couples were under twenty. Curtis Williams the driver died instantly. Horace Shepard James Shepard and Miss Helene Mattox died shortly after. Miss Mary Mattox was badly injured.
