In Centralia, the 3 am post office burglary netted about 160 dollars plus postmaster Benedict's papers, after burglars blew the outer safe door and forced the inner one with a crowbar. Government funds appear intact and no clues are yet found.
In New York, Nan Patterson endures a sleepless night in the Tombs as court resumes.
