Dale Jones and Margie Jones, longtime train robbers, were killed with Deputy Sheriff George Vilet during a ten minute gunfight in Arcadia. The couple, aged 21 and 20, had a long criminal record including a 1918 Missouri Kansas Texan train holdup and the Colorado chief of detectives murder.
Seattle and King County report oversubscribed United War Work quotas of 540000 and 620000 with state total 1705000, contingent on industrial district returns. An unidentified woman about 40 was killed at 6 30 a m Wednesday at Second Ave and University Street when struck by a car driven by Leonard B Wans of West Mahomet He was taken to Providence hospital but released later a purse and gold stick pin may identify the victim The car struck a steel curtain iron appendage pierced the skull and the woman died before arrival at the hospital
The city will stage a municipal Thanksgiving fete in Seattle on Thanksgiving Day. Mayor Hanson said details are not yet set and he has asked the Elks club to oversee the day's events. Also noted is a Rome dispatch stating the Czechs have established a legation with Borsky as charge d affaires and Capt. Giovanni Seba as military attaché.
President Wilson plans to depart for France on December 3 aboard a large transport with the peace delegation. Details include composition of the delegation with Elihu Root likely among Republicans, and plans to carry on reconstruction and labor policy while in Europe.
President Wilson cannot leave the United States for Europe without a passport under wartime regulations in effect. It is possible foreign governments and this government may relax the rule as a courtesy for the president Mrs. Wilson and other peace delegation members, but no decision has been reached.
Washington November 20. Rates on all express lines under federal control were raised today by Director General McAdoo. Increases run from 10 to 17 cents per hundred pounds and are expected to generate about 24 million dollars annually.

Twenty U boats surrendered to Rear Admiral Tyrwhitt thirty miles off Harwich at sunrise. More U boats to surrender tomorrow and Friday with the remainder later. Crews boarded British ships at Harwich and the Germans to be returned home in transport ships. Tyrwhitt, commander of the destroyer squadron of the First Fleet, has a history in the Heligoland battle and the January 1915 North Sea action. Harwich, Essex, is a major fortified seaport on England’s east coast.
Frome reports that in line with the armistice admirals Cagni and Kock have seized Pola harbor. Austrian dreadnoughts Tegetthof and Prinz Eugen now fly Italian flags as the American naval mission led by Admiral Mayo completes an inspection of the Italian war zone.
Allied armies of occupation push toward the Rhine with Brussels Antwerp Metz Malines Alost Montmedy Saarburg Colmar Mulhausen Zabern and Neu Breisach reoccupied. Average advance about 25 miles with the British front advancing 28 miles since Sunday as cheers and flowers greet troops.
Montreal Nov 20 Definite orders for the demobilization of all Canadian forces in the district have been received by Maj Gen Wilson from Adjt Gen Aston. The district contains 60 000 soldiers awaiting demobilization procedures.
