Seattle Banks Show Wonderful Increase In Deposits And Loans
The comptroller of the currency reports Seattle banks reach record deposits totaling 77 million 444 thousand 907 and loans totaling 50 million 655 thousand 561 as of the 16th. Since September 1 deposits rose 2 million 68 thousand 700 with surplus and profits up 418 thousand 211 across 22 of 25 banks. The period marks strong local prosperity amid national market strain.
