Civil War Relics Collector Edward Morris Dies in Accident

Edward Morris organizer of Morris Realty Co died after a loaded revolver he polished with an oily rag discharged. He was found seated in his basement den at 1018 Summit Ave with the weapon on the floor. His son Robert, 12, found him alive but unconscious. he died before a physician arrived. Morris, a former Kentucky native and local politician, planned a Southern feast and had sent for possum ham and bacon. He leaves a widow and four children.

Despondent Lodging House Owner Dies by Self-Destruction

Chas. T. Marshall, 60, of 1410 Fifth Ave, reportedly unable to profit from his small lodging house, died this morning after ingesting carbolic acid and strychnin. Found in his room shortly after noon, his body warm. Little known of him and no apparent relatives in the city. He was crippled in one arm and had opened the establishment about two months ago.
