A strong Utah earthquake rattled Wasn, Wasn County, and St. George causing terrified pupils to flee classrooms as ceilings collapsed and plaster rained down. Teachers restrained panic while some children suffered bruises from falling debris. Tremors were felt as far north as the state capital. Washington County reported the event in the southwest.

New Orleans Nov 4 The Federation of Labor convention opened with debate over a social pension proposal from Milwaukee Delegate Berger. The session also heard remarks from Edwards of Great Britain about Morgan’s mining deal and miners’ wages. A telegram from Mayor Schmitz of San Francisco and a note from John Mitchell were read and cheered before resuming the pension debate.
London. Rev. George Martin pleaded guilty at Old Bailey to conspiring to blow up the grand stand on Procession day. The court proceedings detail the arrest and admission of intent in a high profile case raising security concerns for the event.

A preliminary skirmish in the Bussell divorce case ended with a victory for the wife. Judge Bell ordered Charles B. Bussell to pay the plaintiff $600 tempo alimony and $600 in attorney’s fees to her lawyers Wilmon Tucker and L. C. Gilmore. If the husband fails to comply, a lien will be placed.
