Seattle Aero Club Bipane Wrecks After Lake Washington Plunge

The Seattle Aero Club's new $10,000 tractor seaplane, powered by a 125 horsepower engine, plunged 75 feet into Lake Washington on Sunday after an air pocket hit. Aviator Herbert Munter was dazed, passenger John Hull escaped with minor scratches, and W. E. Boeing plans to rebuild the aircraft. Two other machines are being built in Los Angeles.

The P. R. passenger liner Princess Victoria towed the Lakewood after its engine failed in a heavy storm off Whidby Island. Nine men aboard the Lakewood were aboard the heavily swamped launch as rough seas battered toward rocks. Kitsap crew later received them at Kingston Pier 3. A weather warning forecast stronger southeast winds and gales, urging vessels to stay in port as the storm moves east from Vancouver Island.
