Arrest of Australian priest in Ireland sparks war case trial
The Rev. T. J. ODonnell, Australian Army chaplain, was arrested in Dublin in 1918 with an antique blunderbuss linked to John Mitchell. Spies mistook him for a Sinn Fein operative, triggering a famous Tower of London case later dismissed as a frame-up. ODonnell planned a court martial amid wartime tensions.
