In Chicago on Wednesday a woman identified as Mrs. Clarence V. Russell drowned herself in Lake Michigan. Relatives say she left a note and, since her husband died two years ago, she had become ill and emaciated while wishing her son would remember her as a beautiful woman.

Arthur F. Norton of 2550 12th Ave W Seattle and president of Norton Munter pany is awarded a gold lifesaving medal for rescuing a drowning man from the ocean near San Diego. Commander R W Vincent of the Seattle Navy recruiting station presents the medal. Norton served in naval aviation at the time of the rescue.
