Union Labor as a Big Political Organization

George L. Berry of Rogersville Tennessee International president of the Pressmen Union urged that organized labor form a political machine and enter national politics as a unified body. He warned federation leaders to address the phase or he would bring a resolution before the convention. He cited Roosevelt’s party building and suggested labor could ally with women and socialists to seek social political and industrial justice. Berry noted his exposure at the British trades union congress and stressed labor involvement in national politics to avoid future problems for children.
