In White Bluffs on November 5 a large gathering of farmers and business people adopted anti-Japanese resolutions. The group formed the White Bluffs Anti Jap anese Association to discourage Japanese settlement and ostracize land buyers or lessees. Plans include expanding the movement to Benton County with county Grange cooperation.

Pauline Douglas, 24, tried to take poison during a card game with her husband and a friend at the Ba Hotel on Sixth Avenue. J F Douglas, a local stock dealer from El Paso, rushed her to hospital after she swallowed ten mercury tablets. a stomach pump and antidote saved her. She later said jealousy prompted the act and that this was her second such attempt.
