Suburban cars collide in dense fog near Compton injuring many

Two big suburban cars traveling from Los Angeles to Long Beach in dense fog collided rear end near Compton. Between 35 and 49 people were injured with several in serious condition. Steamer Santa Clara Arrives with Prospectors for Tanana

The Alaska Pacific Navigation steamer Santa Clara docked this morning from Valdez with 180 passengers. It carried 420 tons of ore from the Eliamar mines and 9,000 cases of salmon from Yakutat. Prospectors head for Fairbanks and other Tanana districts as spring revival nears. 50 men await a freeze to begin overland trails.

Got 16 Years Oscar Green Convicted In Highway Robbery

Oscar Green, inmate recently convicted of highway robbery, received a 16 year sentence from Superior Judge Tallman. He was found guilty of stealing $38 from sailor Chan Seagle on October 10 after knocking him senseless. Police say Green has long robbed drunken sailors, aided this time by key evidence from a pair of suspenders.
