Motorcycle Officer Charles A. Roselius confessed to killing Police Sergeant Guy Carleton after a pursuit and warnings amid a domestic love triangle. Anderson who risked injury saving the wife Mrs. Roselius, and the case advances as prosecutors seek charges.
Mayor Fitzgerald declared war on alien slackers on city payrolls after protests from contractors and patriotic groups. He cited 1919 law banning alien workers who claimed exemption and ordered contractors to list citizens, saying returning soldiers deserve jobs and slacker aliens should be removed.
Weather observer George N. Salisbury warns Seattle and the district from the Columbia River north to expect moderate to strong southwesterly and south easterly gales Monday evening. Rain is forecast tonight and Tuesday as part of the storm warnings.

After two months on strike the building tradesmen returned to work Monday under a truce declared by the Building Trades council. Wages remain the same but hours rise to 44 weekly as master builders push open shop terms. Rohde, federal mediator, will arbitrate. no formal sessions set.

Pittsburgh November 3 The Pennsylvania State Federation urges a state wide strike if Governor Sproul refuses to call a special session to restore constitutional property and to act as impeachment tribunal against officials found guilty of violations and violations of their oaths of office.
New York longshoremen resume work as about 2000 of the 6000 strikers at the port are reported back today. T. V. O Conner, president of the International Longshoremen's Association, provides the update on progress toward ending the walkout.
