Patrolmen Humes and Osborn captured John Swine known as Derby the Prowler during an early Monday morning pursuit. Swine, a colored man, had an iron bar found on him and is held as evidence. Authorities note possible intent to pry rear entrances of wealthy houses.
The Northern Pacific will begin service on June 4 with increased congestion relief as more trains are scheduled. Officials urge travelers to expect busier terminals and plan accordingly.
After a two and a half hour vote the jury convicted real estate man C. D. Hillman and his lieutenant L. F. Forest of conspiracy to defraud. The verdict carries a one year term and a $500 fine or both. Hillman vowed to use media support to win city council race.

Mrs. Sarah A. Pevey aged 59 of 170 Ninth dropped dead at 9 30 Monday morning while supervising a maid. Death blamed on heart trouble. Survived by husband and two children from a former marriage including Percy Hoyt of Gunset Telephone Co Beattie daughter Mrs W B Armstrong also of Beattie. Also notes divorces granted Saturday for Chris Johnson from Edna Johnson for infidelity and R F Ball from Maggie Ball for abandonment.
The Seattle area longshoremen threaten to call out crews and block ships unless owners hire union labor. The dispute centers on Port Blakeley and nearby vessels with 160 longshoremen in residence and ships employing about 192 crew. A Northwestwide stoppage could force ships to sail with inexperienced crews or stay idle until the Everett convention resolves the issue.
