Strikes spread as 300 drivers and livery men in San Francisco join to pressure craft beer makers. Union leaders allege Beattie Brewing and Malt Co controls saloons and distribution, with Western Federation of Miners pledging support. Marco Talloc, a sculptor, was beaten by D. M. Lillian who runs a rooming house at 1811 Third. No witnesses. Talloc says the attack was unprovoked and stemmed from a board bill. Both men were taken to the police station. Dr. McDowell tended to the injured party.
