Smugglers Arrested as Opium Haul Found in City
A large gang of opsturn smugglers was captured after police extorted a confession revealing a concealed opium cache on Twenty-first avenue. About a ton of contraband was seized and sent to the local secret service. Warrants of arrest were issued for Mike Murphy Dennis Sheehan and Alfred Larson in the city jail. The opium, valued at around twenty two thousand dollars if pure, is tied to smoking grade stock priced roughly ten to eleven dollars per pound after duty.
